QAA funded Compassionate Assessment Network Event 2 - Relationships, compassion and relation pedagogy: Implications for assessment. Online

The Compassionate Assessment Network would like to welcome you to our 2nd event on the topic of relational pedagogy. The event will take place on Friday 10th May from 12 noon – 1 pm (BST).

The Compassionate Assessment Network is a space for like-minded colleagues to discuss aspects of compassion in our teaching and assessment and share practice. Fundamental to compassionate assessment is a pedagogy built on relationships. The second of the network events will focus on relational pedagogy and how this approach can support compassion in assessment practices.

We are delighted to have two guest speakers join us to talk about their expertise in relational pedagogy:

  • Dr Karen Gravett is an associate professor in higher education and author of the book Relational Pedagogies, Connections and Mattering in Higher Education.
  • Dr Lana Burroughs is Head of School, Society Community and Health at the University of Bedfordshire. The underpinning pedagogy in the school is ‘relational’ where colleagues build strong relationships and partnerships with students. It is an ethos focussed on care ethics and social justice.

We look forward to welcoming you to this free event to be held online in Teams, please book here
