We are thrilled to announce the Escape Rooms in Education Showcase 2025, a premier event dedicated to exploring the innovative use of escape rooms in educational settings. Join us for an exciting and informative experience where education professionals, researchers, and enthusiasts come together to share insights, strategies, and success stories.

This will be a 2 half-day event that will take place online at the following times:
Thursday 15th May, from 13.00-18.30 BST and Friday 16th May 2025, from 08.00-15.15 BST 

 

We have two sets of incredible keynote talks lined up for each day to inspire and inform participants to help prepare you to create your own escape rooms in education:

Thursday 

Play without the Paperwork:  Using EscapeIF for Low-Resource Storytelling Classroom Games 

Scott Nicholson, Professor, Game Design and Development, Wilfrid Laurier University 

Brantford, Ontario, Canada 

Scott has written research papers on escape rooms, meaningful gamification, games in libraries, online education, and data mining. 

 

Friday 

Putting the FUN into data fundamentals 

Dr Jasmeen Kanwal and Kate Farrell, the Data Education in Schools project, the University of Edinburgh, UK. 

Kate and Jasmeen have designed and implemented escape rooms for pupils to defend Scotland against villainous high-tech Vikings to enhance data education provision across the school sector. Find out more at their website

 

Participation in the showcase 

Don't miss the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking community by registering to attend the showcase. In addition, if you would like to share your work in the area of escape rooms in education, we have a range of formats to choose from in the Call for Proposals (CfP). These include lightning live talk; pre-recorded talk with the option of attending a live Q&A panel during the showcase; workshop or a live digital escape room.
