Time Management, Motivation & Prioritising Online
Time management and motivation is not about working more, it’s about working smarter. This workshop is designed specifically for researchers who are interested in developing their time management skills and optimising their working hours. With research activities, keeping up with the literature, publishing, planning and writing to consider, it can be challenging for researchers to fit everything in to their schedules. The workshop begins with an introspective look at how participants currently allocate their time, identifying patterns that may hinder their progress. We then move on to measuring progress, motivation and determining and setting priorities. The workshop highlights a range of relevant software that can be helpful for these activities.
Participants will be introduced to techniques to optimise their time and be encouraged to discuss working patterns with others. In addition, we will cover the concept of work-life balance, working styles & budgeting time. The workshop will include individual exercises, short presentations from the instructor, group discussions & examples of good practice.
After this workshop participants will have:
- knowledge of how to apply time management techniques to their own personal working style;
- an understanding of their priorities and how to optimise their time;
- a time management strategy that can be adapted on a regular basis to suit their workload.
